Blackboard Africa is a youth Non-Profit Company (NPC) based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The organisation was created by two young black girls Amonge Sinxoto and Zingisa Socikwa, at the age of 15 and 23 respectively.
We call the movement Blackboard because it carries a timeless metaphor that we want all Africa youth to remember. The movement is for African youth to formulate and creatively express their Perceptions, Ideas, Insights, and Creativity around challenges we face in our living environment. To redefine and improve our views and visions for the prospects of our generation.
The blackboard challenge is about inspiring youth innovation to tackle Africa’s complex challenges. We do this through activating spaces for sharing of ideas; to intrigue our creative appetites through Interactive Conversations, Music, Spoken word, Art and sharing of beautiful Stories. We aim to liberate our thinking in pursuit of a transformed society towards the vision of a unified Africa.
The Blackboard Africa is an emerging organization with strong linkages and dependencies to its community. Our community shares common values, critical to the establishment, growth and sustainability of our Mission Objectives. These are Vision, Initiative, Trust, Transparency, Hope, Creativity, Youth Leadership, Voluntarism.
